- Apple Corps Ltd has announced plans to open a major new Beatles museum experience in central Liverpool in 2028, aiming to create a world-class visitor destination comparable to Graceland or Dollywood.
- Occupying a 100,000-square-foot site opposite Liverpool Lime Street station, the expanded attraction will feature immersive technology, original artefacts, and reconstructed film sets including the Cavern Club and Abbey Road studios.
- As part of the project, the nearby 400-foot St Johns Beacon will be transformed into a Yellow Submarine-themed tourist attraction, with a portion of ticket revenues set to support a local charity for emerging artists.
- Surviving band members Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr welcomed the project, which will follow the late 2027 opening of a fan experience at Savile Row in London and coincide with Sam Mendes's quartet of biopics releasing in April 2028.
- While experts anticipate a major tourism boom for Liverpool, concerns have been raised by academics regarding the potential Disneyfication of the band's historical legacy and relationship with the city.
