
MANILA, Philippines — More than majority of Filipinos still distrust China and view the country as a threat, according to the latest survey by OCTA Research.
In its fourth quarter Tugon ng Masa survey from Dec. 3-11, 2025, 60 percent, or six out of ten Filipinos expressed this sentiment, 13 percent said otherwise and 25 percent were undecided.
The highest distrust rating was recorded in Balanced Luzon at 63 percent and the National Capital Region at 62 percent.
Meanwhile, nearly eight out of 10 Filipinos, or 79 percent, view Beijing as its greatest threat, followed by Russia at five percent and United States at four percent.
NCR respondents were the highest cohort who said that Beijing is the greatest threat at 84 percent.
The survey had 1200 respondents and had a margin of error of plus or minus three percent.
