Malaysia and the Muslim World League agree on strategic initiatives to strengthen the global Muslim community through knowledge and unity.

KUALA LUMPUR: Strategic initiatives between Malaysia and the Muslim World League are set to be realised following high-level discussions.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Dr Zulkifli Hasan announced the new cooperation after a closed-door meeting with MWL Secretary-General Datuk Seri Muhammad Abdul Karim Al-Issa.

Zulkifli described the meeting as a platform to chart a clear and focused direction for future collaboration beyond a simple exchange of views.

“Alhamdulillah, this opportunity has been fully utilised, not just to exchange views, but to chart the future through meaningful and visionary discussions,” he said in a Facebook post.

He expressed confidence that several strategic initiatives would now move from discourse to concrete action for a stronger and more united global Muslim community.

The minister also extended his appreciation to Al-Issa and the MWL for their commitment and willingness to share their views during the productive meeting.

“When the intention is for Allah, a meeting becomes an act of worship, and when the vision is clear, the steps become meaningful,” Zulkifli added.

The discussions were held after the conclusion of the recent Faith and Science Competition Programme, an initiative run via the Iman & Sains Malaysia platform throughout Ramadan.

Previously, Al-Issa had described Malaysia as a source of inspiration for the Islamic world in advancing international Islamic initiatives.

He noted that this is reflected in the country’s consistent commitment and active participation in MWL-organised programmes.
