
Kota Kinabalu: The Malaysia-China Friendship Association Sabah will be organising two major upcoming events, namely the “JOM! Malaysia-China 2024” and the Chinese Cultural Grand Festival, which fully supported by the China Consul-General.
Its President Dr Oh Ei Sun said the “JOM! Malaysia-China 2024” is scheduled to take place on Aug 25, while the Chinese Cultural Grand Festival will be held from Sept 13 to 23, this year.
He said both events are part of a series celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China, with the China Consulate-General at Kota Kinabalu as a supporting unit for these activities.
Dr Oh said this when paying a courtesy visit on Dr Huang Shifang, the Chinese Consul-General in Kota Kinabalu, to report and introduce the two major upcoming events, recently.

Malaysia-China 2024” Organising Committee, Michael Lim.
Dr Huang praised the Malaysia-China Friendship Association for its significant efforts in promoting cultural and educational exchanges between the two countries, serving as a vital communication bridge.
Michael said this year’s Malaysia-China Friendship Run received sponsorship from the internationally-renowned sports and leisure brand Skechers.
“The total value of the lucky draw increased from last year’s RM40,000 to RM60,508, with 350 prizes in total.
“As this year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China, the event holds special significance.
“I also encourage the public to actively participate in this event. The event will be held on Aug 25, starting at 6am at the Padang Merdeka and is expected to end at 10am,” he said.
Michael said the run will cover a distance of seven kilometres and the registration fee is RM80 per person.
He said participants will receive a Skechers brand T-shirt, a medal, a race number, an eco-friendly bag, and a 30pc discount voucher for Skechers products.
