Harimau Malaya defender Daniel Ting says the team is focused on winning their final Asian Cup qualifier against Vietnam to boost FIFA rankings.
NATIONAL defender Daniel Ting insists the Harimau Malaya squad is fully focused on securing a win in their final AFC Asian Cup 2027 qualifier against Vietnam.
He emphasised that every international match holds significant value, particularly for accumulating FIFA ranking points to improve Malaysia’s global standing.
“Every game we want to win. Of course, it might not matter for the points and qualification and all that thing,” Ting said in a video shared by the Football Association of Malaysia.
“But regardless there’s still FIFA points up for grabs and we want to build those points again to go back up the ranking.”
He added that the team’s preparations in Bangkok are progressing well, with all players showing strong commitment since regrouping.
The Ratchaburi FC player believes his experience competing in the AFC Champions League Two provides an advantage that can help elevate the team’s overall performance.
