KUALA LUMPUR – National men’s doubles pair Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun conquered their tough challenge of defeating Indonesian veterans Mohammad Ahsan-Hendra Setiawan in the quarterfinals at the Malaysia Masters today.
The world number 26 Malaysians progressed to the semifinals tomorrow after they won 23-21, 21-17 in 38 minutes at the Axiata Arena.
The first set was a close battle between the two sides with the lead constantly switching hands since the match started, but Wei Chong-Kai Vun prevailed to gain the lead heading into the second set.
Having lost their only previous meeting to the sixth seed Indonesians at the 2022 Singapore Open, the Malaysians equalled the head-to-head score this time and move into the final four tomorrow. – The Vibes, May 26, 202
