With the 2025 index now including productive skills such as speaking and writing, Malaysia’s improvement shows that Malaysians are becoming more confident and capable in real-world communication, not just reading and listening.

Malaysia’s capital city continued its upward momentum with a score of 588, reflecting steady improvement in English proficiency among urban communities, workplaces, and education hubs.

This suggests that more Malaysians are actively using English in daily life, whether in digital communication, content creation, business, or education.

An achievement worth celebrating

Malaysia’s rise in the 2025 EF EPI is more than just a number, it’s a sign of growing confidence, better communication skills, and a generation ready to engage with the world.

From Rank 26 to Rank 24 globally, and maintaining a solid Top 3 position in Asia, Malaysia continues to level up on the international stage.

Malaysia Boleh.
