An armored vehicle transporter (KPKP) belonging to the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) was involved in an accident on the Kuala Lumpur – Karak Highway (KLK) yesterday afternoon (November 7).

According to a report by Sinar Harian, the Commander of the Armed Forces, General Tan Sri Mohammad Ab Rahman, said that the vehicle, which was carrying 2 ADNAN armored cars from the base in Pahang, overturned due to the accident.

The KPKP was on its way to Gemas, Negeri Sembilan, for training purposes when the accident happened.

“The cause of the accident is still under investigation. However, no injuries to members (of ATM) or members of the public have been reported. The KPKP suffered damages,” he said.

In the meantime, the Malaysian Army (TDM) asserted that they will set up an investigation board to find out the real cause of the accident.

“The vehicle was traveling in a convoy of 6 KPKP, carrying 12 ADNAN armored vehicles from Camp Batu 10, Kuantan, to Camp Syed Sirajuddin, Gemas, for Combat Enhancement Training (LPT),”

“According to initial reports, the accident was caused by the KPKP trying to avoid a public trailer that changed directions and entered the right lane suddenly. As a result of the slippery road conditions due to rain, the KPKP lost control and then crashed into the opposite road,” they informed.

While the KPKP driver suffered no injuries and the ADNAN armored vehicles suffered no damages, the KPKP’s entire prime mover has been destroyed.
