Gan Chen Jie wins gold in the women’s 50m rifle 3 position, setting a new SEA Games record with a score of 451.7 points in Bangkok.

BANGKOK: National shooter Gan Chen Jie clinched the gold medal in the women’s 50m rifle 3 position individual event at the Sports Authority of Thailand Shooting Range today.

Chen Jie scored 451.7 points to secure the victory and break the SEA Games record.

The previous record of 451.1 points was set by Vietnam’s Phi Thanh Tal at the Hanoi edition in 2021.

Indonesia’s Audrey Zahra Dhiyaanisa took the silver medal with a score of 451.5 points.

Singapore’s Adele Tan won the bronze medal after scoring 440.6 points.

The triumph served as a redemption for Chen Jie on her SEA Games debut.

She had earlier settled for a silver medal in the rifle three positions team event.

Chen Jie also won a bronze medal in the 10m air rifle competition. – Bernama
