Malaysian sprinter Azeem dominates Florida State University relays

KUALA LUMPUR – National sprinter Muhammad Azeem Mohd Fahmi won the 100m event in the Florida State University relays, beating nine others by clocking 10.32 seconds.

Representing Auburn University, this was also Azeem’s outdoor tournament debut on American soil after three previous appearances in the 60m indoor event, reported Bernama.

Held at Mike Long Track di Tallahassee, second place went to Andre Ewers (10.49s), and trailing behind was Trei Thorogood (10.51s).

Last month, Azeem broke his own 60m national record by clocking 6.62s to finish fifth in the final of the Tiger Paw Invitational at Clemson University in South Carolina.

He is also the national record holder in the 100m sprint category with a time of 10.09s.

He is currently at Auburn University in Alabama to further his studies while undergoing his training there. – The Vibes, March 25, 2023
