A Malaysian woman sparks debate after calling out identical AI-designed banners at Ramadan bazaars, with netizens echoing her frustration.

WHILE selling delicious food and drinks can help draw a crowd, how these products are marketed plays an equally important role in attracting customers.

With the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), designing posters and banners for food and beverage businesses has become more accessible than ever. However, customers are increasingly noticing a lack of creativity and individuality in many AI-generated designs.

A Malaysian woman recently voiced her displeasure on Threads over the growing number of AI-generated banners at Ramadan bazaars, expressing frustration at how repetitive and uninspired they appear.

“All of these designs look the same. Did they all use the same ChatGPT prompt?

“Honestly, it would be much better if they edited their banners using other platforms,” she wrote.

Netizens echoed her sentiments, with some expressing annoyance and even refusing to support businesses that rely on AI-generated designs.

“If vendors are selling their products using AI-generated posters, I won’t support them. It just looks lazy,” a user commented.

“These banners are an eyesore. Sorry to say, they really don’t look nice at all,” another lamented.

“I just want to see the price and what the food actually looks like, but the designs are always cluttered and the colours don’t even stand out. At least use real photos of the food,” another user added.
