Bolt users in Malaysia can now request rides through ChatGPT, thanks to a new global integration that brings the ride-hailing service into OpenAI’s AI chatbot.
Instead of opening the Bolt app first, users can ask ChatGPT to arrange a ride, view an estimated fare, compare route options, check driver arrival times and get suggestions for the best pickup point.
Once they are ready, users will be transferred to the Bolt app to complete the booking. Payments will still be made through the Bolt app for now, with Bolt planning to add in-chat payments later this year.
The integration is available across all markets where Bolt operates, including Malaysia, as the company looks to tap into the growing use of AI for travel planning. Bolt cited Accenture’s Consumer Pulse Research 2025, which found that 80% of travellers globally use AI tools for travel-related tasks.
Bolt is now available through the ChatGPT plugin store, allowing users to access the service directly from the chatbot.
