Man accused of cutting queue at petrol station assaulted by lorry driver

A MAN who sustained injuries to his nose, left hand and behind his head is suspected of being beaten by a lorry driver for allegedly cutting a queue to fill up at a petrol station in Pandan Indah, Kuala Lumpur, yesterday.

Ampang Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail, said in the incident at 5.15pm, when the victim was at the petrol station, he was approached by an unknown man in a lorry accusing him of cutting the queue.

According to him, the victim explained that he was at a different pump but after he paid the suspect approached him and an argument ensued.

"The suspect touched the victim's nose with his finger and then took out an unknown object from his pocket before poking a red object towards his nose, causing the injury.

"There was a fight between the victim and the suspect and he suffered injuries to his nose, left hand and swelling on the back of his head. Members of the public broke up the fight and the suspect left," he said in a statement today.

He said police were in the process of tracking down the suspect who was still at large.

"The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code," he said. - October 19, 2025
