- Anthony Williams, 33, has pleaded guilty to 12 counts of wounding with intent and two of attempting to wound with intent following a series of violent incidents.
- The defendant also admitted seven further offences, including theft of knives, possession of bladed articles, affray, and assaulting a police officer.
- Williams continues to deny 14 counts of attempted murder, including charges linked to a mass stabbing on an LNER train near Huntingdon and separate attacks in London and Peterborough.
- Prosecutor Christopher Paxton KC told Cambridge Crown Court that a trial would still be necessary as the guilty pleas do not resolve the full indictment.
- Mr Justice Calver confirmed that the trial for the remaining attempted murder counts will begin on Monday 26 October.
