A man was arrested after allegedly assaulting a member of the Seputeh Residents’ Representative Council during a confrontation over the collection of parking fees in Taman OUG, Kuala Lumpur.
Seputeh MP Teresa Kok shared a video of a man confronting her and several MPP Seputeh members at the parking area.
According to Kok, DBKL and the Federal Territories Lands and Mines Office had taken enforcement action against the parking operation on Aug 4.
However, the man allegedly ignored the shutdown order and continued collecting parking fees.
During the confrontation, he was heard telling the group not to interfere with his workplace.
“Lu bos ke, gua bos?” he shouted after allegedly assaulting an MPP member.
Several people were seen attempting to restrain him before police arrived.
Three suspects arrested
According to The Star, Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Fadil Marsus said a 38 year old woman lodged a report at around 2:38pm that day.
She alleged that one of the suspects verbally abused her, punched her in the head and threatened to cause trouble at her workplace.
Police subsequently arrested three men aged between 20 and 26. All three reportedly had previous criminal records.
The case is being investigated for voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation.
Following the incident, police officers were stationed at the parking area to prevent further unauthorised fee collection.
