A man allegedly strangled his wife with her scarf in Bans Aliyar village in the IMT Manesar police station area on Wednesday night. After the incident, the accused fled. Four children were sleeping on the terrace of the house at the time.

According to police, Narendra Singh, originally from Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, was living in Bans Aliyar village, IMT Manesar, with his wife Kajal Devi and their four children. Both worked as labourers at a private company.

Police said 36-year-old Kajal Devi usually returned home from work by 8 pm, while her husband would arrive at midnight. On Wednesday, he saw his wife talking to someone on the phone. The angry husband asked who she was speaking to and demanded her phone, but she refused. An argument broke out between the two, after which he allegedly killed her.

A senior police officer said the victim’s family had informed them and an investigation is underway.
