PENAMPANG: Police have arrested a 37-year-old local man for allegedly injuring three men with a sharp weapon during a brawl in Putatan on Tuesday night.
Penampang police chief Supt Sammy Newton said the incident occurred around 9.30pm outside a house where a group of individuals was gathered playing carrom.
Initial investigations revealed that the altercation was triggered when one of the victims reprimanded the suspect, a neighbour, for riding past with a loud motorcycle engine.
The three victims, aged between 35 and 40, sustained injuries from a sharp object and were sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kota Kinabalu, where they were reported to be in stable condition.
The suspect was apprehended in a Putatan village at about 10pm the same night, and the case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons.
