
Kota Kinabalu: A 31-year-old father of three who stole two packets of 3-in-1 instant drinks for his own consumption was placed on a two-year good behaviour bond by the Magistrate’s Court here.
Magistrate Marilyn Kelvin bound over Mohd Dellassrul Mohd Dali with one local surety on RM2,000 bail without deposit after he pleaded guilty to the theft charge.
Mohd Dellassrul committed the offence at 6.44pm on Sept 12 this year at the Servay Hypermarket in Putatan.
In mitigation, counsel Lawrence Lim submitted that his client is the family’s sole breadwinner with three children and no fixed income, before requesting a bond of good behaviour without a cash deposit.
Inspector Dzulfamie Amrin prosecuted the case framed under Section 380 of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of up to 10 years and a fine upon conviction.
