While couples often do many sweet and affectionate things for their partner, it usually doesn’t involve dangerous acts that could put both of them in harm’s way.
A young couple in Singapore recently shocked netizens after they were caught on camera performing a daring and risky act at a mall.
Man ‘balances’ GF on shoulder while enjoying dessert
In a 9-second clip shared on the Facebook page SG Warehouse Sale & Events last Sunday (Nov 23), it showed a mallgoer recording the couple who were taking the escalator.
When the camera zoomed in, it revealed that the man was carrying his girlfriend on shoulders with no additional support whatsoever.
And as if that wasn’t absurd enough, the couple seemed unfazed by their actions and ate their ice cream calmly as some looked on in horror and bemusement.
In the caption, the OP sarcastically remarked that the girl was “lucky” to be carried on her boyfriend’s shoulder as not many guys would do that.
Although the location wasn’t disclosed, it’s believed to have occurred at Plaza Singapura.
Netizens horrified
Unsurprisingly, netizens reacted with shock over the couple’s dangerous act and roundly condemned them for it.
‘This is a dangerous act. Do not emulate.’
‘This is an accident waiting to happen. At work I learnt we need risk assessment. Order to carry out work to prevent dangerous things from happening. For this? They need psychiatric evaluation.’
Meanwhile, a netizen wrote that the best case scenario would be for the escalator to stall halfway and cause the girl to fall backwards so that the couple would learn their lesson.
