Manchester City fullback Sergio Gomez hopes to see Burnley manager Vincent Kompany on Friday night.
Gomez played for Kompany at Anderlecht.
"For me the match against Burnley is going to be a nice game because I spent a year with Vincent in which he helped me grow a lot as a player," he told City's website ahead of Friday night's Premier League opener.
"It will be a pleasure to play against him.
"He had a great season last year and Burnley deserves to be in the Premier League so we know it will be a tough challenge."
Gomez added, "I talked to him during the holidays - while I was at the Euros.
"He congratulated me on the results of the tournament and on all the titles we had won. I will talk to him for sure and it'll be good to see him before we start a new Premier League season."
