Manchester City's veteran goalkeeper Scott Carson has taken issue with a fan online claiming he doesn't deserve his two Champions League winner's medals.

Carson was an unused sub when Liverpool beat AC Milan to win the competition in Istanbul in 2005. Then 18 years later, he was on the bench as City won in the same city.

And he reminded the critic that he played in the quarterfinal for Liverpool as they defeated Juventus.

He posted, "90 minutes quarter final do your research lad", adding two medal emoji's to confirm the point.

Carson, 37, signed a new 12 month deal with City last month.
