Southampton could be replacing their wantaway midfielder Romeo Lavia with another youngster.
The Saints are considering a move for Manchester City's talented young midfielder Shea Charles.
Per The Mail, if they sell ex-City youth team star Lavia to Liverpool, they will turn to the Citizens again.
Charles is seen as a defensive midfielder who is comfortable on the ball and is press resistant.
The Northern Ireland teenager is 19, but has yet to prominently feature for City.
The likes of Leicester City are also tracking his progress, while other Championship clubs may also bid this summer if he is available.
