Manchester City have made a serious play for River Plate whiz Claudio Echeverri.
The 17 year-old has declared he "will not renew" his River contract and could be sold as early as January.
Barcelona have been rated favourites to land Echeverri, with an offer of 25m being prepared.
But transfer expert Nicolo Schira is reporting City have now come forward with a five-year contract offer for the teen and his family to consider.
City will offer 20m to River next month to convince them to sell.
