- The commission concluded that the club arranged 'sham' commercial sponsorship deals as part of a disguised funding scheme, where sponsors paid only a portion of the stated fees.
- In a statement released on Tuesday evening, Manchester City declared themselves “innocent” and expressed “disappointment” and “surprise” at the verdict, maintaining that a comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence exists in their defence.
- The club stated its intention to appeal against the findings prior to the deadline on Friday 2 October, asserting that the judgement contains clear material errors of law, principle, and fact.
- Sanctions for the infractions have yet to be decided by the Premier League as further regulatory and legal processes remain ongoing.
