
PENAMPANG: A 35-year-old male driver died in an accident on Saturday, along Jalan Papar Lama, near Kampung Dambai/Proper Bridge, here.
Acting Penampang Police Chief DSP Sammy Newton said the initial investigation found that the 5am accident occurred when the driver coming from the direction of Donggongon lost control and skidded and crashed into the bridge's wall.
"The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was sent to the Queen Elizabeth 1 Hospital's Forensic Department for autopsy," he said in a statement.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
