A man in his 40s was found dead after being electrocuted in a suspected attempt to steal TNB cables in Kapar, Klang.

SHAH ALAM: A man in his 40s died after being electrocuted while allegedly attempting to steal Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) cables in Kapar, Klang, near here, this morning.

Klang Utara District Police Chief ACP Ramsay Embol said the Malaysian man’s body was found by members of the public before police personnel were deployed to the scene.

“Investigations found that the victim is believed to have been electrocuted while committing the offence of stealing cables, with his body and hands still attached to the TNB cables.

“Cable-cutting equipment, a padlock and the motorcycle believed to have been used by the victim were also found at the scene. The victim’s family has identified the deceased,” he said in a statement today.

Ramsay said the case was classified as sudden death (SDR), while the body was sent to Hospital UiTM Puncak Alam for a post-mortem examination.

“Anyone with information on the case can contact investigating officer Sergeant Major Azhar at 012-3495921 to assist in the investigation,” he said.
