
RANAU: A man was fined RM25 by the Magistrate’s Court here after being found guilty of behaving in an indecent or discourteous manner towards a girl aged 16 at a fast-food outlet in Ranau.
Al-Nadzri bin Jamil was fined RM25, in default five days’ imprisonment, after pleading guilty to an offence under Section 8(1)(e) of the Minor Offences Ordinance (Sabah Cap. 80).
The offence was committed at about 7pm on April 20, 2025, at the vehicle parking area in front of KFC Ranau, according to the case facts.
The court was told that Al-Nadzri had acted in a manner that could cause annoyance to public peace and deliberately leaned against the back of the girl, identified in the case document as Devrrionna Magdelyna Davin.
The incident left the girl feeling frightened and uncomfortable. She lodged a report.
The case was investigated under the Minor Offences Ordinance, which provides for a maximum fine of RM25 for the offence or five days’ jail.
