Man found dead in locked Keningau bathroom

KENINGAU: A 35-year-old man was found dead inside a locked bathroom in Kampung Bingkor, here, on Tuesday.

The man was found unconscious by firemen on the floor before he was confirmed dead by health officials.

The district Fire and Rescue Station received a call at 8.51am and seven firemen led by Operations Officer Herwin Hanafiah rushed to the scene with machinery. Also involved in the operation were three police officers and six Ministry of Health officials.

The body of the man, who was said to have some health problems, was handed over to the police for further action.

Meanwhile, in Tambunan, a man was seriously injured when the Ford vehicle he was driving skidded and fell into a 15-metre deep ravine at a Kampung Makatip road, on Monday.

The Tambunan Fire and Rescue Station received a call at 3.43pm on Monday and nine members led by Operation Commander Tony Sipin rushed to the location with machinery.

The 37-year-old was brought up from the ravine using a swing stretcher and given initial treatment by EMRS members.

The victim was then taken in an ambulance to the Tambunan hospital for further treatment.
