
TAWAU: A man was found dead in a water-filled drain (pic) near the Ba Zhong Commercial Centre on the outskirts of the town here, around noon, Tuesday.
The location of the discovery is a busy thoroughfare connecting the town centre to Kampung Titingan, the Sri Titingan People’s Housing Project (PPR) and Jalan Damai.
When found, the man was fully clothed in a short-sleeved shirt and black trousers, with visible injuries on his face.

The discovery drew a large crowd to the scene, causing traffic congestion in the area.
Tawau District Police Chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the victim could not be identified yet as no identification documents were found on him.
“The body has been sent to Tawau Hospital for a post-mortem. For now, we have classified the case as a sudden death report (SDR),” he said.
Witnesses are urged to come forward with any relevant information.
Members of the public who may be missing a family member are also encouraged to lodge a police report to assist with identification.
