A MAN was found dead on a massage chair at his home in Ayer Merbau, Bemban, in Jasin, today.
Jasin District Police Chief, Superintendent Lee Robert, said police received a report regarding the incident at 9:11 am, after which officers were dispatched to the scene.
He noted that preliminary checks revealed the man, Gwee Beng Soon, 54, was believed to be home alone at the time of the incident, as his wife had been vacationing abroad for the past week.
He explained that the incident came to light after the victim’s 21-year-old child lodged a police report, following a phone call from the mother at approximately 5 am today.
“At the time of the incident, the victim’s child was working in Kuala Lumpur as a TikTok agent.
“The deceased’s wife contacted their child to inform them that the father was unconscious on a massage chair at their home,” he said, as reported by BuletinTV3.
A criminal investigation team was deployed to the scene, and the forensic unit from the Melaka Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK) was notified to assist with the investigation.
“For now, the case has been classified as a sudden death (SDR), and further investigations are underway to determine the cause of death.
“The body has been sent to Jasin Hospital for a post-mortem examination before being released to the family,” he said. – October 24, 2026
