Man found dead with 70 per cent burns beside Johor railway tracks

A MAN was found dead with burns covering nearly 70 per cent of his body beside the Kempas-Pasir Gudang railway line on Thursday.

Seri Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said police received information about the discovery at 4.20pm at a location between kilometre markers 22.50 and 22.75 along the railway line.

He said officers and personnel from the Seri Alam district police headquarters, accompanied by the Johor contingent police headquarters’ Criminal Investigation Department forensic team, were dispatched to the scene to investigate.

“Investigations found that the body was that of a man without any identification documents and with burns covering nearly 70 per cent of his body,” he said in a statement.

The body was subsequently taken to Pasir Gudang Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Mohd Sohaimi said the examination found that the cause of death was severe burns.

The case has been classified as sudden death (SDR). - October 17, 2026
