PETALING JAYA: A 26-year-old man was sentenced to 10 years in prison and ordered to be given three strokes of the rotan by a sessions court in Kuching, Sarawak, today for raping an 11-year-old girl.

Judge Saiful Bahari Adzmi handed down the sentence after the accused pleaded guilty to raping the victim on May 11, The Borneo Post reported.

According to the facts of the case, when the victim’s father saw the perpetrator in his house, he claimed that he was taking care of the daughter.

Dissatisfied with the answer, the father questioned his daughter, who admitted that she had sex with the man in her bedroom.
