A court here sent a man to three-year jail for sexually harassing and threatening to kill a 12-year-old girl. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the convict.
The incident had taken place in 2023 when the girl went to a shop near her home to buy groceries. The man working there forcibly pulled her inside, molested her and threatened to kill her, if she disclosed the incident to anyone.
According to Panchkula DCP Srishti Gupta, the investigation into this case was conducted with utmost sensitivity. The accused was arrested within two days. she said.
