BEAUFORT: Police have detained a man over a criminal intimidation case in Kampung Kilugus, Menumbok.
District Police Chief Supt Champin Piuh said the man allegedly threatened his family with dangerous objects, causing them to fear for their safety.
“Personnel from Menumbok Police Station detained the suspect following a report. A remand application will be made before the papers go to the Deputy Public Prosecutor’s Office,” he said.
Champin said substance abuse, especially methamphetamine, can cause aggressive behaviour and poor judgement, sometimes leading to threats or harm against others, including family.
He urged the public to avoid drugs and report such behaviour to police.
In a separate case in Kampung Klias Kecil, police detained a man who tested positive for methamphetamine.
Champin said police will keep stepping up anti-drug operations and urged the public to report related activities.
