
SYDNEY - A man has been hospitalised after being attacked by a shark off the coast of Western Australia (WA) on Monday morning, reported Xinhua.
The incident occurred at Glenfield Beach, 380 kilometres north of Perth, at around 9.45 am local time on Monday, stated Western Australia’s Primary Industries and Regional Development Department.
Two ambulance crews were dispatched to the scene and a man in his 50s was rushed to hospital as a priority emergency.
Local media reported that the incident occurred about 40 metres offshore and that the victim suffered serious leg injuries.
The species and size of the shark involved have not been identified.
