
TELUPID: A man sustained burns in a house fire in Kampung Telupid on Saturday morning. Beluran Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Edoen Macheal said firemen rushed to the location after receiving an emergency call at 7.57am.
“A wooden house destroyed. A man also suffered first degree burns and was given initial treatment before being sent to the Telupid Health Clinic,” he said.
Firefighters extinguished the fire using a 300-foot stream with two water spouts sourced from a nearby river.
Firefighting ended at 10.55 am while the cause and the loss are still under investigation.

The Sandakan Fire and Rescue Department rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call at 5.48pm.
According to Sandakan Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Severinus Sainkui, the fire involved a semi-permanent structure.

He said a car in the workshop was also destroyed.
“The fire department used a 200-foot stream with two water spouts sourced from the fire engine to extinguish the fire from spreading to a nearby shop,” he said.
No victims were involved while the cause and loss are still under investigation.
