
Kota Kinabalu: A 44-year-old man was jailed 14 days and fined RM25 or a day’s jail by the Magistrate’s Court for breaking two drinking glasses while drunk in a bistro.
Muhd Faizal Hussin pleaded guilty before Magistrate Lovely Natasha Charles to committing the offence on April 4, at 1.30am at the S Bistro, Damai Plaza, Luyang Commercial Centre here.
The charge under Section 15 of the Minor Ordinance Offences provides for a RM25 fine and 14 days jail, if convicted.
The prosecution said the complainant who was about to close the premises, asked Faizal to pay for the alcohol he ordered but Faizal became angry.

Read more Faizal threw two glasses at the bar counter until they broke, causing the complainant and her colleague to call the police for help.
Unrepresented, Faizal requested leniency while the prosecution applied for an adequate sentence.
In another case, an Indonesian man was fined RM25 or a day’s jail for threatening a woman.
Agustinus Noeng admitted to committing the offence against Sarinah Mat Jali on March 17 at 10.40pm at the squatter village behind the Agriculture Department, Manggatal.
According to the prosecution, before the incident, an argument ensued between Sarinah’s husband and Agustinus, who then brought a machete with him.
The complainant told them to stop but Agustinus threatened to slash her for interfering in their affairs, prompting her to lodge a police report.
Agustinus was charged under Section 8(1) of the Minor Offences Ordinance, which provides for a RM25 fine.
He was ordered to be referred to the Immigration Department after paying the fine or serving the sentence.
Meanwhile, a 63-year-old man claimed trial to assaulting his elder sister.

The charge under Section 325 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to seven years or fine on conviction.
The court set May 29 for pre-trial case management and released the accused on a bail of RM2,500 in one surety.
