KOTA MARUDU: An elderly man died from injuries sustained in a crash involving the 10-tonne lorry he was driving at Kampung Mengaris, here, on Saturday morning.

The 68-year-old driver reportedly lost control of his vehicle, resulting in a crash that left him trapped inside.

AdvertisementA team of 10 firefighters, led by operation commander Jakrie Bahar, was dispatched after the incident was reported at 7.49am.

The team arrived at the scene, approximately 16km from the Kota Marudu Fire and Rescue Station, at 8.16am.

“The body has been handed over to the police for further action,” said Assistant Fire Supt Hasbi Hajat, the station chief.
