Using a public toilet should be a private affair. But for one man, a frightening encounter in Bukit Jelutong left him feeling uneasy about stepping into one again.
Taking to Threads, he shared footage of another man allegedly peeking into his toilet cubicle, adding that it took him about a week to find the courage to post it.
A face appeared near the bottom of the door

In the footage shared, a man’s face can be seen near floor level through a gap beside the yellow cubicle door.
The OP identified the location as a public toilet in Bukit Jelutong and later clarified that it was on the second floor.
“This is so scary… there’s a man peeking,” he wrote in Malay.
Waited about a week before sharing

In a follow-up comment, he explained that the incident had happened roughly a week before he uploaded the footage.
He only felt ready to share it after telling a colleague what had happened. However, the memory was still bothering him.
Actually, this video isn’t recent. It happened about a week ago. I only dared to upload it today after telling my colleague.”
He added that he kept replaying the encounter in his mind, to the point that using public toilets now felt frightening.
‘Scarier than a ghost’
The post drew plenty of reactions, with one netizen describing the encounter as “scarier than a ghost”.
The OP replied:
If it were a ghost peeking, that would still be okay… but this is a person.”
Others expressed disgust at the man being so close to the toilet floor, while one commenter asked why the OP hadn’t sprayed him with the bidet.
However, another user pointed out that it can be difficult to react when something like this happens unexpectedly.
‘I was so shocked I couldn’t think’
Sharing a similar experience, the commenter admitted that they once questioned why people didn’t spray or catch someone who was peeking.
Their perspective changed after someone looked into their own cubicle from underneath the toilet door.
“I froze. I was so shocked that I couldn’t think. Before I knew it, I was trembling from the shock.”
The commenter added that they have made it a habit to bring their phone into the toilet ever since.
For the OP, the encounter was something he was still struggling to shake off, even a week later.
