KUALA LUMPUR - A man who was under remand died while receiving treatement at the Beluru Health Clinic in Marudi, Sarawak, yesterday.
Bukit Aman Integrity and Standards Compliance Department (JIPS) director Datuk Azri Ahmad said the 50-year-old was detained under Section 506 of the Penal Code on the same day.
"While on the way to the Marudi district police headquarters, the man complained of chest pain and breathing difficulties. He was immediately taken to the health clinic for treatment.
"The man was pronounced dead by the clinic's medical assistant at 10:30pm," he said in a statement, today.
Azri said post-mortem will be conducted on the man at the Miri Hospital tomorrow (Thursday) to determine the cause of death.
"JIPS will conduct an investigation related to the case," he said.
