Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag rejected criticism from the media of Omari Forson's performance in defeat to Fulham.
It was put to Ten Hag that the full debut 'came too soon' for Forson.
"I wouldn't say that," he replied.
"I think he had some good actions and it was a reasonable performance.
"It's never easy, especially when there's a slow start, but there were some good actions and he was reliable in his job, so I wouldn't say so."
