Manchester United football director John Murtough urged manager Erik ten Hag to reconsider selling defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer.
The Athletic reports the Dutchman was prepared to part with the English right-back this summer, with the 24-year-old attracting interest from Crystal Palace and West Ham.
However, Murtough is said to have stepped in and asked him to keep the player.
Murtough in the end won over Ten Hag as Wan-Bissaka remained a United player beyond the deadline.
The fullback - who has not featured for the club so far this season - deemed a 'capable' defender' by Ten Hag.
