Manchester United's new investors INEOS have a decision to make this summer.

Not only are they contemplating the future of manager Erik ten Hag, but they must also decide on the club's Europa League place.

The company also holds a controlling stake in French club Nice, who will be in the Europa League as well.

United may not be permitted to play in the same competition, unless INEOS satisfies UEFA's ownership rules.

L'Equipe has mentioned that INEOS plan to pump in an additional 245 million into United to control more than 30% of the club.

They would then have to give up some of their stake in Nice, or hope one of the two teams drops down into the UEFA Conference League.
