Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has been confirmed as the club's new captain.
Manager Erik ten Hag had previously stripped England center half Harry Maguire of the captaincy.
He then took a few days to mull over the decision about who would be the next permanent skipper.
United announced the decision on their official website and social media accounts on Thursday.
Fernandes, who is 28 and has already worn the armband on 45 occasions last term, is now officially club captain.
Maguire is likely to stay at the club for at least another season, despite his demotion in standing.
