The Sun says United manager Erik ten Hag has identified Ward-Prowse as a key target after he enjoyed a stellar campaign on the south coast. The England international registered 11 goals and eight assists for the Saints last season.
United are monitoring his situation closely ahead of a potential £75million swoop.
However, the Red Devils are not the only club interested in acquiring his services.
