Manchester United are ready to hand Lisandro Martinez a new contract.

The Argentina defender only moved to United last summer from Ajax, but such has been his impact that he is set for a pay-rise.

Martinez signed a deal worth 120,000-a-week and The Sun says he'll be handed fresh terms to 170,000-a-week.

However, the new contract won't finalised until the club's ownership issues are settled.

Martinez's season prematurely ended last month due to a metatarsal injury.
