
TAWAU: A man who has 10 previous criminal records in the peninsula was arrested by the police near a security hut, here, last Sunday.
Tawau District Police Chief, ACP Jasmin Hussin, said the suspect, in his 40s, was arrested at 2.30am after acting suspiciously at Taman Cynthia Road.
A crime prevention unit from the Tawau Police Station were carrying out crime prevention patrols in the area before glimpsing the suspect.

“The suspect was further detained and brought to the station and he tested positive for the drug,” he said.
The case is investigated under Section 12 (3) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Jasmin added that further investigation found that the suspect has 10 drug-related records in Kuala Lumpur and Johor, including arrest warrants.
He said the district police are actively carrying out aggressive policing operations with other enforcement agencies to crimes in Tawau.
