Man worked with his long-lost sister for two years without knowing

  • Dave Green, adopted as a baby, was reunited with his birth family after discovering he had unknowingly worked with his long-lost sister, Andrea Urmston, for two years.
  • As reported by the BBC, Mr Green, a bus station supervisor, and Ms Urmston, who serviced vending machines, developed a friendship at Manchester Airport.
  • The siblings realised they shared the same mother after a conversation about fostering in 2007, when Mr Green mentioned his adoption and Ms Urmston spoke of her brother who had been put up for adoption.
  • Mr Green later met his birth mother, who was 15 when she gave birth to him, discovering he had regularly driven past her Altrincham home as a bus driver.
  • Despite growing up separately, the siblings found they shared similar tastes, including how they take their tea and a love for “tomato sauce butties”.
