- Panorama Produce has recalled 302 boxes of size 9 mangoes distributed across Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania due to potential Salmonella contamination.
- Sold in select Walmart stores between Aug. 10-21, 2026, the Martina-branded mangoes feature a light blue Agrofepac sticker with PLU number 4584 and UPC # 07503061948050.
- The voluntary recall was initiated after FDA testing identified Salmonella in mangoes grown on the same farm in Mexico, although no illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the product.
- Salmonella exposure poses a serious health risk that can cause fatal infections in young children, elderly individuals, and immunocompromised people, along with fever, diarrhea, and nausea in healthy individuals.
- In rare cases, salmonella infections can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and produce more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.
