MANILA Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso on Monday inaugurated the city hall's first public electric vehicle (EV) charging station.
The charging station has a 30-kilowatt (kW) DC charger and a 22-kW AC charger, "providing both fast and standard charging options to any electric vehicle owner without a private charging facility," the Manila Public Information Office (PIO) said in a statement.
Vice Mayor Angela Lei "Chi" Atienza joined Domagoso in the ribbon-cutting for the charging station at the Kartilya ng Katipunan, formalizing the partnership between the city government and ACMobility to set up a public EV charging infrastructure within the city.
AC Mobility "is set to expand its footprint in Manila before the end of 2026, with additional charging stations planned at Bagong Ospital ng Maynila and Sta. Ana Hospital," the PIO said.
